ratatouille

It has been 4 months since the last posting, but hopefully this will be the beginning of more frequent posts. In the meantime, we've joined a CSA which has delivered week after week of bountiful fruit and vegetables. The latest haul has included eggplant, squash, and tomatoes. And so, I thought of making the famed ratatouille dish, of confit byaldi by Thomas Keller and featured in the movie Ratatouille.

Unfortunately, our yellow squash gave up the ghost so we doubled up on the zucchini. Also, the japanese eggplant was of a much smaller variety, so we had to deal with non-uniform pieces. for an all veggie dish, pretty delicious. should have bought some bread to mop up the juices. hopefully next time around will have uniform sizes and some cooperative non-rotten yellow squash.

plating leaves much to be desired
